Seventh Street, Downtown Los Angeles Seventh Street was once downtown Los Angeles' "Mecca for Merchants." By World War I, Seventh Street had become a stylish shopping district with both Bullock's and Robinson's department stores. Other notable landmarks are the sumptuous Pantages Theater; the 818 Building (formerly Barker Bros.) and the palatial Fine Arts Building.
