University of Southern California Programs:
Master of Historic Preservation
Certificate
in Historic Preservation
Summer Program in Historic Preservation

Intensive programs that examine the history and philosophy of historic preservation and introduce a broad range of historical, theoretical, legal, economic, aesthetic, and technical issues associated with the conservation of our cultural heritage, with a special emphasis on issues pertinent to Southern California. The Summer Program is a great introduction to the field of historic preservation.

Los Angeles Trade Tech College Historic Preservation Skills Certificate (Architectural Technology)
A community-college-level program offering Architectural Technologies Associate in Arts degree, Architectural Technology Associates of Science degree, and Certificate of Completion for Digital Design, Computer Aided Drafting, and Historic Preservation designed to train a wide range of skilled and entry level workers to meet the challenges of conserving historic resources.

PLAN-110: Introduction to Historic Preservation Planning
An online course from Planetizen, an urban planning and development website provides professionals and concerned citizens alike with a self-paced introduction to the basic knowledge and action framework they need to develop historic preservation programs.

UCLA Institute on Primary Resources: Primary resources provide firsthand evidence of historical events. The purpose of the Institute is to introduce teachers to primary resources and how they can be used in the K-12 classroom. Teachers may use any of the materials from the extensive holdings of the department, however the main focus of the Institute is on the use of primary source material.

UCLA Library Digital Collections: Thousands of images from the Los Angeles Times and Los Angeles Daily News photographic archives, chronicling the history and growth of Los Angeles from the 1920s to 1990.
