ASISTENCIA MISSION

Built between 1830-1834 by the Franciscan Fathers of Mission San Gabriel, these buildings were restored in 1865 by Dr. Benjamin Barton, and then rebuilt in 1937. Today, the nondenominational chapel will hold 100, and up to 500 can be accommodated in the beautiful courtyard and grounds. The chapel and/or courtyard can be rented for the wedding ceremony only. You provide your own caterer; beer, wine and champagne are allowed.

BENEDICT'S CASTLE

A Spanish-Moorish- style castle designed by Henry Jekel, the first half was built in 1923, and the second half was finished in 1931. For years it was a monastery for the Servite Fathers. In 1991 "Teen Challenge" purchased the property. It is located on 14 acres, 4 of which are landscaped with orchards. Inside, twin staircases lead to a balcony overlooking the banquet hall where weddings and receptions take place. The castle will accommodate a maximum of 200 people.

EDWARDS MANSION

The mansion was built in 1890 and is now an antique-filled restaurant with greenhouse, patios, garden, gazebo, and adjacent chapel. Management can provide everything from complete catering, invitations, music, limo service, and tuxedo rentals. There are three lovely settings special events - the Orange Tree chapel and the Garden Gazebo areas. The Orange Tree Chapel offers, in addition to the basic services: seating for 110 guests, with guest accommodation of up to 140, kneeling bench, two large brass candelabra, and piano. The Garden Gazebo Wedding offers a choice of the East or West Lawn Gazebo, unlimited seating in the beautiful grounds, unique lighting for evening ceremonies, and stage quality synthesizer or piano.

KIMBERLY CREST HOUSE AND GARDENS

This 1897 features a terraced Italian Renaissance garden with lush landscaping, cascading fountains, curved stairways, and fine stonework. The gardens are available for special events of up to 120 guests.

MISSION INN

In 1875 the adobe Glenwood Cottage was built by Frank Miller. One of the original names of the Mission Inn was Glenwood Tavern. The Inn was pieced together over 30 years, with no particular design. The prominent architectural motif is Mission Revival with some Spanish Baroque, Moorish, and Italian Renaissance. It was closed for major rehabilitation in 1985 and has recently reopened to the public. There are two chapels and an outside area where the ceremony may take place. Receptions may take place in the Music Room, Art Gallery, or Galleria. Up to 250 people can be accommodated for a reception.

PADUA HILLS THEATRE

This 1930 Mediterranean-style building once served as a theatre for Spanish-language performances. The dining area is now used for special events. The gardens, which include an olive grove, were designed after the gardens in Padua, Italy. Both the dining room and the gardens may be used for spring and summer weddings, and can accommodate up to 300 guests. The dining room can accommodate 170. In-house catering must be used. You provide your own alcohol. There is no corkage fee.
