2020 People + Places Book List for Kids

The Los Angeles Conservancy's People + Places kids' book list for kids returned in July!
Check out the 2021 list now >>
The Los Angeles Conservancy's People + Places kids' book list and Storytime for Kids include stories about places, architecture, and preservation. The 2020 book list is appropriate for grades 1-5 and provides a great introduction to the built environment and why saving places matters.
Teachers and parents can use the accompanying Reading Guides to go deeper into the topics and themes each story explores. Each Reading Guide contains discussion questions to elicit feedback, vocabulary words for better comprehension, and activities to further learning. All books are available at the Los Angeles Public Library.
