Last Remaining Seats Planning Committee (LRSCOM)
Interested in helping plan Last Remaining Seats?
2020 marks the 34th season of Last Remaining Seats, our signature series of classic films in historic theatres. Much of the planning and implementation was done by a committee of dedicated volunteers. To augment our devoted core of longtime committee members, we’re looking for some fresh faces to lend their creativity, enthusiasm, and elbow grease as we look forward to the 2020 series!
Please note that the LRS 2020 series has been postponed due the COVID-19 precautions. Stay tuned for further updates which will be posted on this and other pages.
The LRS Committee is an annual group of volunteers who help Conservancy staff primarily in:
- Selecting, via a voting process, films appropriate for the series
- Creating and implementing the pre/post-film programming, events, and displays
You don’t need to be a film or theatre expert to serve on the LRS Committee but a passion for films and a creative mind are assets! Once the film line-up has been confirmed, you will be asked to serve on one of the various sub-committees of your choice (audience participation, selfie stations props and displays, community outreach, etc. ) and assist with at least one of the screenings.
LRS meetings are generally held in the evening of the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, beginning in September and continuing through April. Meeting attendance is not mandatory but to be a voting member of the committee you need to be a member of the Conservancy and attend three or more LRS committee meetings within a 12-month period.
Planning for the 2020 series began in early September, 2019.
