I remember going to cotillion at the Ebell and on a lucky night getting to go out for ice cream sundaes at what was then called the Carnation Building.

I believe the sharks up Wilshire Blvd. (with help from Ivan Boesky) facilitated the restaurant's demise. A perfect little LA noir story...
