Virtual Workshops: Adventures in Architecture
The L.A. Conservancy's residential Adventures in Architecture workshop has gone virtual in 2021!
Adventures in Architecture workshops take students on a virtual field trip to significant historic sites located within a unique Los Angeles neighborhood. Students will meet members of the community and learn why protecting historic places matters.
We are currently offering three different neighborhood explorations:
Burbank: Portal of the Folded Wings Shrine to Aviation, Warner Brothers Studios, Lockheed Martin Aircraft Company, Burbank City Hall, Downtown Burbank Post Office, Safari Inn
Lincoln Heights: Lincoln Park (including the Selig Zoo and Ostrich Farm, both now demolished), Lincoln High School, Church of the Epiphany; LAC+USC Medical Center
Westlake/MacArthur Park: Bullocks Wilshire (now Southwestern Law School), MacArthur Park, Hayworth Theater, Langer’s Deli, Bryson Building
All of the Conservancy's virtual workshops are led by Conservancy educators and support California's Common Core State Standards in History and Social Sciences.
Adventures in Architecture can be customized to support classroom learning and is provided in three-to-six virtual classroom sessions.
Recommended for grades 3-12.
$50 per workshop session (recommended for up to 30 students)
Large group options and scholarships are available! Just ask.
