Stomping the Parks District

All the locations [on this website] from Westlake and LaFayette Parks were my pre-teen stomping grounds from 1927 until when Bullocks Wilshire, the Town House, and the First Congregational Church broke the skyline we could see from the roof of our apartment house on Rampart off 6th Street.

I learned how to play tennis on the courts tucked across Wilshire from LaFayette Park. In between the beautiful new buildings being erected, most of Wilshire was lined with billboards.

All this and more until I did some more growing up when we moved to the Miracle Mile district.

Wonderful memories to see these photos.
