Santa Monica Professional Building

This Spanish Colonial Revival building, with Moorish details and baroque ornamentation that draws the eye upwards, has an unusual Y-shaped plan to accommodate sunlight and ocean breezes.

Plans are underway to convert the seven-story structure, which features a penthouse on the top floor, from office and retail space to a hotel.

Vista Theatre

Located on Sunset Drive where Sunset Boulevard becomes Hollywood Boulevard, the Vista Theatre was originally known as the Lou Bard Playhouse or Bard's Hollywood. The theatre, designed by noted theatre architect Lewis A. Smith, is a unique combination of decorative styles - a Spanish Colonial Revival exterior and an Egyptian-themed interior.
