L.A. Conservancy members are invited to a rare final opportunity to experience the history of L.A.’s General Hospital before its transformation into housing. The last time we offered this tour in September, 2025, it sold out almost immediately, and we know many people were disappointed when spots were no longer available.

Thanks to special permission we are able to open the building once more. Conservancy Members will receive priority access to this limited opportunity with just over 200 spots available. The tour has a limit of two (2) tickets per member as it is expected to fill quickly. No one without a prior reservation will be allowed on the tour, so no day-of walk-ups, please. L.A. Conservancy members are invited to a last exclusive tour through the long-closed halls of L.A. County’s 1933 General Hospital before it begins its exciting transformation into housing through adaptive reuse. This guided tour offers a unique opportunity to discover the building’s architectural details, hear stories from its past, and learn more about the plans that will give this historic site a bold new purpose.

Once tickets are gone, no additional spots will be added. We strongly encourage you to reserve your place as soon as tickets become available on Wednesday, August 5 at 10:00 a.m. Please be patient if high demand temporarily affects our website or phone lines. We appreciate your understanding as we work to assist everyone as quickly as possible.

HEALTH & SAFETY NOTICE: The Historic General Hospital is a decommissioned facility and not maintained for public use. Conditions include asbestos, dust, poor air circulation, and high temperatures. N95 masks must be worn. The building is not fully accessible for wheelchairs or those with mobility limitations. This information is provided so participants can make an informed decision about their comfort and safety during the tour. Signed waiver will be required. Masks will be provided.

L.A.’s General Hospital is located at 1200 N State Street, Los Angeles, CA 90031. Parking will be provided free of charge.
