In Los Angeles, preservation adds balance to housing. After decades of working with communities to preserve older and historic housing, the Conservancy has launched a new multi-year campaign for housing and preservation. Aptly called HOME, the campaign showcases how preservation offers a vital solution in addressing L.A.’s housing issues.

We help people save historic places they care about. Thanks to generous supporters like you, the Conservancy offers communities advocacy guidance and support, technical assistance, and access to our Community Leadership Boot Camp.
Break barriers to honor women’s heritage, addressing the lack of representation in local landmarks.

The Conservancy’s new L.A. Women’s Landmark Project has conducted groundbreaking research on women’s heritage in Los Angeles. It will address the significant underrepresentation of women and their contributions to historic designations in Los Angeles, including developing a national model for a more gender-equitable landmarking process.
Inspire youth to learn, care about, and preserve historic places in Los Angeles that hold their heritage.

More than 1,500 students participate in the Conservancy’s programs a year, including walking tours, workshops, our annual summer intensive, and two new residency programs. Almost 50% of student groups received a scholarship to participate. Your donation today ensures L.A.’s heritage will be stronger tomorrow.
Strengthen support for L.A. County's Legacy Businesses.

The Conservancy has a longstanding commitment to supporting legacy businesses throughout L.A. County, including a public awareness campaign, developing a legacy business network and grant program, and advocating for supportive city and county programs. Most recently, we were contracted by the City of Los Angeles to develop a legacy business technical assistance toolkit for their Legacy Business Program. Your support ensures we’re keeping legacy businesses a priority in Los Angeles.
