Your Donation Today Supports Vital Community Anchors Like Legacy Businesses Tomorrow!
Since 2019, we've been celebrating, raising awareness about, and advocating on behalf of legacy businesses throughout L.A. County.
Longtime businesses face a myriad of challenges due to increasing rents, development pressures, and succession issues, all of which have been exacerbated by the pandemic.
We've been advocating strongly for a citywide legacy business program. Finally, this June, the L.A. City Council's Economic Development and Jobs Committee voted to recommend the adoption of a new citywide legacy business program that will provide financial and technical assistance to eligible longtime businesses!  The item now heads to the full L.A. City Council for final approval. Through our social media campaign, we've featured more than 200 businesses—reaching 2.5 million people.
And, we're not done yet! Thanks to your generosity, we will continue to promote and support legacy businesses to fortify their longevity in the communities they serve.
This is the power of your support!
The Preservation Advocacy Fund (PAF) specifically funds our advocacy work. It allows our advocacy staff to protect historic places in Los Angeles County that matter.
When you donate to PAF, you too become an advocate for the preservation of our tangible history.
This fund goes above and beyond membership dues to make our work possible. Donations to PAF enable us to take direct action and mobilize support to preserve historic and culturally significant places—because once they’re gone, they’re gone.
Preservation issues can take months, even years, of continuous advocacy.
Our advocacy work takes significant time and resources, and we need your help!
Donations to the fund allow our advocacy staff to prepare the next generation of preservationists through our Community Leadership Boot Camp training, prepare landmark nominations to recognize and protect significant historic places in Los Angeles, and support legacy businesses located in neighborhoods throughout the County.
It also allows us to attend public meetings, and offer technical assistance to individuals, as well as communities throughout the County interested in developing preservation ordinances.
Your tax-deductible donation of any amount will make a real difference in our ability to shine a light on important history that may otherwise be overlooked.
We appreciate your support!
