“We’ve supported the Los Angeles Conservancy for more than 40 years because the destruction of our shared history lessens us, and the great design and materials used in the past are not being carried forward into the present. Preserving wonderful old buildings is more environmentally sensible than construction of new ones. We love the Last Remaining Seats because it’s a joy to experience the grand old theaters, and occasionally the Orpheum’s organ! The Conservancy’s most impactful contribution was saving the Central Library. I spent 30 plus years as a Los Angeles public librarian and the possible Demolition of the library galvanized me to become a preservation supporter.” — Christopher (pictured on the left)

Nearly half of the L.A. Conservancy’s 4,500 member households have been Conservancy members for ten years or more! As a thank you for your loyal support, we’re recognizing our current members who have belonged to the Conservancy for decades.

We were curious about what motivates people to stay engaged with the Conservancy for such a long time, so we checked in with Christopher Parsons & Donald Brown and three other member households who have been Conservancy members for 40 or more consecutive years!  That’s commitment!
