For over 30 years, 88 Gifts Shop was located in BC Plaza on the corner of North Broadway and Ord. In 2020, owner Annie Ma was forced to relocate her business to its present location, across the street. From a small storefront, Ma continues to sell housewares, plants, Chinese-language newspapers, and a variety of Lunar New Year gifts to neighborhood residents and tourists.

In addition to her role as a longtime small business owner, Ma helps strengthen her neighborhood’s resilience and vibrancy by helping to connect community members to employment, housing, and caregiving resources.
