About This Special Tour

Get a rare inside look one of Lloyd Wright’s unique textile-block designed homes, right in the heart of Hollywood. Completed in 1923 for the President of the Dial Film Company, the Bollman House is one of Lloyd Wright’s first independent commissions and an early experiment in textile-block design. Frank Lloyd Wright, (Lloyd Wright’s father) built on the idea of textile-block design after seeing the work done at the Bollman House.

Originally designed in the Mayan Revival style, the Bollman House has undergone a number of incompatible alterations that are now being reversed thanks to its current owners’ care and stewardship.

This tour, which is exclusive to the L.A. Conservancy, will provide attendees with the opportunity to learn more about the Wright’s legacy and to see the back yard and ground floor of a significant Lloyd Wright home as it currently undergoes restoration. This intimate, hour-long tour of this private residence will be led by homeowners Michael and Eran Hammer, who will speak to the joys and challenges of restoring this landmark home.
