The focus is on high-quality pieces, a great fit, and personalized customer service that makes shopping there a treat.

About the Founder: Camille DePedrini

Camille DePedrini’s passion for fashion began in her 20s, learning to sew with a childhood friend and making clothes together. She worked in retail, including high-end shoe sales, while studying dance at San Francisco State. After exploring silkscreen printing in London and attending design school, she launched a clothing business. Camille opened her South Pasadena boutique in 2000, starting with custom wedding dresses before shifting to ready-to-wear fashion in 2014, always prioritizing quality and personal service.

The Evolution of Camille DePedrini: A South Pasadena Fashion Gem

Camille DePedrini’s journey began in her 20s when she learned to sew from a childhood friend, sparking a love for creating clothes together. She balanced retail jobs—starting with a long stint in a high-end shoe store—with her studies as a dance major at San Francisco State. Her passion for design led her to London, where she explored silkscreen printing with her then-boyfriend, and later to design school, where she launched a clothing business with a partner that lasted five years. In the late 1980s to early 1990s, Camille worked in upscale retail in San Francisco and Berkeley, including a hat store where her wedding dresses gained traction among academic students. By 2000, she opened her boutique on Fair Oaks in South Pasadena, focusing on custom wedding gowns. In 2014, unable to compete with mass-market chains like David’s Bridal, she pivoted to ready-to-wear fashion, sourcing from international brands. Moving to its current location in 2008, the boutique weathered challenges like COVID-19 by offering virtual shopping, evolving into a community staple through quality and personal service.

Special Thank You

Thank you to the English as a Second Language (ESLN) students from Pasadena City College for partnering with us on this special project. As part of their U.S. Cultural Traditions and Social Change class in Spring 2025, the students gathered stories and information directly from local legacy businesses, capturing their unique contributions to our community. We are proud to showcase their authored profiles and celebrate their hard work. A special thank you to Cuiying Zhu (Elena), Bangbang Lyu (Cindy), & He Liang for working closely with Camille DePedrini. Your dedication has brought these stories to life beautifully!
