This is perhaps the finest surviving example of Stiles Clements' Churrigueresque-style architecture on the boulevard.

Originally designed with artist studios above and commercial space below, this fanciful building is decorated with ornate plasterwork concealing lovely maidens and playful monkeys (near the windows and doorways on Berendo).

It has been occupied through the years by Chanel, a Helena Rubenstein salon, other fine shops, and art schools and studios.
