The Heritage Project Application
About The Heritage Project
The application for The Heritage Project 2025 with the L.A. Conservancy is now open.
The Heritage Project is a three-week summer intensive program for high school students. It will be held from July 7 to July 25, Monday through Friday. The hours will vary, but most days begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. In addition, students will be given at-home assignments to complete on their own time.
Students will meet at a different location across Los Angeles each week for day-long excursions to historic sites and cultural organizations. These neighborhoods include (but are not limited to) Downtown L.A., Griffith Park, and Mid-City Wilshire. An overnight trip to Catalina Island, which leaves from Long Beach Harbor, is also included, and it takes place from Thursday, July 17, to Friday, July 18.
Students will be expected to find transportation to and from each day’s starting location. The Conservancy will provide transportation for additional site visits planned throughout the program. Some assistance with transportation to and from beginning locations may be possible but cannot be guaranteed. The final schedule will be determined and communicated to students admitted to the program before the start date.
Lunch or other meals may occasionally be provided. Most days, students are responsible for providing or purchasing their lunches. Afternoon snacks will be provided to students free of charge.
Students accepted into the program will be awarded a $500.00 award on the last day of the program. The award will cover the cost of expenses associated with the program and be used for future education endeavors.
Approximately 15 students will be selected to participate in 2025.
Application Deadline: Friday, May 2nd at 11:59 p.m.
