About This Tour

Los Angeles’ Union Station was the last great railway station built during the golden age of rail travel, and it stands at a crossroads in L.A. history, straddling the city’s early decades and its emergence as a world-class metropolis. It bursts at the seams with historical figures and significant stories, as well as stunning spaces to explore. You’ll visit the former Fred Harvey Restaurant, a stunning example of late Art Deco design and a site that provided women with rare work opportunities outside the home. You’ll gain exclusive access to the grand Ticketing Concourse, where passengers purchased tickets alongside soldiers headed to war, and pass through the Waiting Room en route to Union Station’s modern wing. Along the way, you’ll see newly restored architectural details and interior spaces familiar from decades of film and television spots.

Recommended for:

Architecture lovers who appreciate the fusion of Art Deco, Mission Revival, and Streamline Moderne.
Travel and transportation history buffs interested in the golden age of rail travel.
Design and craftsmanship aficionados who appreciate restored architectural details.
