It still boasts the country’s largest collection of intact historic movie palaces, each of them more opulent than the last. 

These historic theatres are integral to the changing identity of downtown Los Angeles, and a touchstone for generations of Angelenos who trace their roots to this neighborhood. 

On the tour, you’ll hear about the history of this storied street and see how historic places along it have taken on exciting new roles– like the former Tower Theatre, now one of the most spectacular Apple stores in Los Angeles. You might also visit a historic movie palace, such as the grandiose Million Dollar or Orpheum Theatres.
