About This Special Tour

The L.A. Conservancy invites you to a special spring tour: HOME is Edinburgh Bungalow Court!

Built in 1923, the Spanish Colonial Revival-style Edinburgh Bungalow Court is an excellent example of this shared form of housing and emblematic of Southern California’s early twentieth-century multifamily residential development.

Edinburgh has been home to hundreds of residents for more than a hundred years, many of whom initially came to L.A. to get their big break in Hollywood. Its tiled fireplaces, wood-framed windows, arches, and gardens created a special oasis for those lucky to live there.

After years of neglect, displacement of residents, and facing almost certain demolition, Edinburgh was ultimately saved and lovingly restored to a glory rivaling its earliest days. It’s a story you won’t want to miss—just as you won’t want to miss the rare opportunity to step inside Edinburgh Bungalow Court to see the gem it has recently become!
