THANK YOU FOR HELPING UNLOCK OUR 2025 $50, 000 MATCHING GIFT MATCH!
Preservation Annual Fund
We did it … and then some! Thanks to generous friends like you, we not only unlocked the $50,000 matching gift for the 2025 Preservation Annual Fund — we surpassed it!
With your support, we raised $124,000 to power our work educating the public and advocating for the preservation of historic places that define Los Angeles County and its heritage. We are grateful to Trina Turk, Wesley Phoa & Margaret Morgan, and Tom Dolby & Spencer Alcorn, who matched every donation up to $50,000!
“As a longtime L.A. Conservancy supporter, I put up a matching gift to inspire potential donors to follow through and double their donation.” says fashion designer and preservationist, Trina Turk.
Help us keep up the momentum in 2026 with a tax-deductible donation today! As we head into 2026, Angelenos are facing unimaginable challenges across the county —from devastating wildfire recovery to troubling local, state, and federal actions that threaten communities and funding.
Throughout the county, local landmarks, like the Capitol Records Tower, L.A. Memorial Coliseum, and Randy’s Donuts, remind us why there is no place as special as Los Angeles. Your support today ensures these historic places we care so much about continue to stand for decades.
Your tax-deductible gift to the Conservancy’s Preservation Annual Fund now ensures we can expand our reach by bolstering our advocacy efforts and creating more meaningful educational experiences for Angelenos of all ages. Together, we’re doing more than saving places. We’re saving homes, preserving our heritage, strengthening community ties, and building bridges to the future.
-
Preserve housing, including the many older and historic places Angelenos call "home."
Historic buildings do more than stand—they provide shelter, community, and memory. Sites like the Harbor House, former YMCA, and L.A. General Hospital show how preservation can create housing opportunities. These projects, part of the Conservancy’s HOME Campaign, demonstrate that protecting historic places can address the City’s housing challenges.
-
Save historic places and sites in Los Angeles that are integral to our community and identity.
Places and buildings hold the stories of generations. Terminal Island, once a hub for selling tuna and immigrant communities, now stands as a Historic-Cultural Monument. With donations from supporters like you, we help communities save the places they cherish while offering guidance, resources, and access to our Community Leadership Bootcamp.
-
Break barriers to honor women’s heritage, addressing the lack of representation in local landmarks.
Women have shaped Los Angeles in countless ways, yet many of their contribution remain hidden or unheard of. The L.A. Women’s Landmarks Project uncovers and celebrates the homes, workplaces, and gathering places that tell these stories. Your donation allows us to preserve these sites and ensure women’s history is part of the City’s story.
-
Inspire youth to learn, care about, and preserve historic places in Los Angeles that hold their heritage.
More than 2,000 students participate annually in the Conservancy’s programs, including walking tours, workshops and our annual summer intensive. Our new Community Leadership Boot Camp: Next Generation helps high school students learn to protect the places that matter. Almost half of all student groups receive scholarships to engage with Los Angeles’ historic places. Your donations help young people experience, understand, and carry forward L.A.’s heritage.
-
Strengthen support for L.A. County's Legacy Businesses.
Legacy businesses are the heartbeat of neighborhoods, often housed in historic buildings. In partnership with the City of Los Angeles, the Conservancy helped develop a toolkit in four languages to guide business owners through challenges from anti-displacement to e-commerce. With support from generous donors like you, we help these businesses thrive and preserve neighborhood character.
