About This Tour

Nothing evokes Jazz Age elegance like the Art Deco style—and L.A. has always been a city in touch with fashion! Clean lines and geometric patterns provided the perfect look for L.A.’s buildings in the ‘20s and ‘30s, and an extraordinary collection of these masterpieces still stand in the heart of the city.

Step inside the entryway to the Cicada Club or the glittering lobby of the CalEdison on a walking tour that highlights the best of 1920s glamour. Along the way, you’ll learn how Art Deco style made its way to L.A., why it became such a defining aesthetic, and about the craftspeople responsible for downtown’s soaring structures and their surprising details.

Recommended for:

Architecture and design lovers fascinated by bold geometric patterns and sleek craftsmanship.
